Do You Have Pain That Comes and Goes?

When you have pain that comes and goes for awhile, you learn to live with it. Your body and mind even begin to believe that this is “normal”, and acceptable. It’s not!!

Already you might have tuned out, thinking no that’s not me. Wait just a minute. Have you ever woke up int he morning with a stiff neck and thought- “I just slept wrong”. Or, have you ever been playing with your kids and felt a tweak in your back. Or, how about that time you were on the yoga mat and felt a twinge in your shoulder?

All these are ways your body is trying to catch your attention to let you know something is amiss. Because these messages are not urgent, and don’t impact you day to day because they go away often we don’t listen.

I’m here to tell you it’s important to listen because the consequences of not taking action, of ignoring are too great. When you stop listening that’s when you end up in a scenario where you can’t move because your back as locked up, or you can’t reach your arm overhead because your shoulder hurts so much, or you have trouble walking or standing because the pain down your leg is unbearable.

Those scenarios don’t happen overnight. Typically it takes weeks, months, sometimes even years to build to this point. The problem is we might have been taught as a child to ignore those slight discomforts, to push through it, especially if you played any type of sport.

It’s time to stop ignoring and pushing through. Ready to take the next step??
