Let Life Flow

Some of you know I have a rare genetic mutation that puts me at high risk for cancer. So just like some of you come to see me to care for your body and health, I too see my specialists. Recently I had a visit with my naturopath. She helps to monitor my blood values amongst other things, to keep an eye out for changes but more importantly help to be preventative.

Just like I remind you the importance of reducing stress on a daily continuous basis, she reminds me. One thing she spoke of this recent visit was a reminder to “Let life flow”. It had been an emotional last couple of weeks since I found out a close family member was diagnosed again with cancer. It reminded me again of what’s important to me in life. I’ve already had cancer once, the likelihood of me having cancer again is high.

What do I want to do with my time here?

Let life flow.

What does this have to do with you, and pain in the body? Well when we grip. Hold tightly to what we “think” should happen or certain outcomes we drastically increase of stress. These are the stories that cause anxiety. Sometimes we live this way so frequently it feels normal. It’s not however, and your lab values would reflect this if read.

It’s also more than this. There are times in our life when we feel “in the flow”. For me it’s when I play with my daughter, meditate, practice yoga, working with patients, teaching a workshop or a class. All of this when I’m taking care of myself properly. When I’m not, then these can feel like a drain. It’s recognizing the difference, and know what you need to do to keep your cup full. It’s also recognizing what gives you that flow experience, and bringing more of that into your life.

What this does whether you have pain in your neck, back, knees or a genetic mutation like me is keep your body/mind at an ideal homeostasis where healing and peak health occur. Inflammation is suppressed, the cascades to support energy and vibrancy flow.

What can you do today to let life flow? If you want direction reach out to me! I’m happy to help.
